Restoring One To Fellowship - Part 1

Posted on August 9, 2019 at 10:34 AM

God wants to restore Christians to fellowship when they have fallen into sin
How do we then restore someone to fellowship?
Start by:

  1. Don't diminish the sin - identify the sin but don't make kite of it.
  2. Avoid the temptation to witch hunt - don't go looking for what is not visible.
  3. Don't ignore the sin - we must take steps to eradicate
  4. Don't hastily expel a fallen brother or sister - don't exile a fallen member - determine the difference between the one who does not want to repent from the one who has simply fallen and needs restoration

It is good to belong to a church that doesn't easily judge people and discard "erring" members - a truly genuine fellowship. Not everything is black and white; there are grey areas. There is a reason for people committing a mistake or error. We have to believe that sinners should be forgiven and supported in order to mend their ways. Salvation should not be denied to those who are asking for it. Every sinner who has seriously repented should be accorded the salvation they need.
